The Painted Table Cafe

This new artsy cafe just opened in the former Zocalo Taqueria location in Grant Park. The atmosphere was trendy with local artists works decorating the walls. The menu was extensive but did not offer any dinner items. Since it was dinner time, we tried to choose from the few hot menu items (we were told the menu was being developed). We ordered the fish special, unfortunately there was nothing special about it. I would suggest the owner/chef sticks to plan A, breakfast and lunch. I plan on coming back for breakfast and give it another try. By the way, none of the tables are painted!

BLT Steak = too much information and great food

BLT Steak at the W Downtown Atlanta is a little hidden from the road, but once you find it you will be pleased.  Smaller than what I expected, but I liked that.  Too much information means that the waiter right off from the beginning started all his explanations about the place and the menu and did not stop for about 5 minutes.  My party of four only remembered bits and pieces of what he said.  The menu was very easy to read, but on the back of the menu was an encyclopedia of STEAK.  I thought it was pretty cool, but again too much information.  You will love the cheese bread balls they bring out before dinner, they are very cool looking and taste great with the salt and butter they bring you.  You can either order from the regular menu or the chalk board menu. I highly recommend the 14-oz. NY Strip, with the mac & cheese, and grilled asparagus.  I also tried the Braised Short Ribs.  Overall, I had a great experience, with great wine, great food, and great service.  The only thing that I will try next time, will be some of their Artisanal American Cheeses from the cheese board they have in the dining room.  Maybe you can try it first…..ENJOY
